Adjustments and Polishing

When adjusting zirconia crowns and bridges, use water to cool the restoration. Avoid micro-fractures by using a fine grit diamond burr that will also lighten its coloration before you make adjustments with air only; it is best for anterior teeth if football shaped (occlusal) or tapered but not lingual surfaces where there's more risk of damaging buccal alveolar bone close up so an alternative tool may be needed here!

Cementation
  • Resin ionomer cement (RelyX™ or RelyX Unicem, 3M ESPE)
  • Maxcem Elite™ (Kerr)
  • Panavia™ F 2.0 (Kuraray) — ideal for short, tapered preparations
  • Glass ionomer cement (GC Fuji, GC America)
Preparation Requirements

Requires a minimum circular reduction of 0.5 mm and a minimum occlusal reduction of 0.7 mm.
